YES to Guidance
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight.
God, today we've come to give you glory and honor,
and we've come to give our trust to you.
We thank you, God, for creating us in your image.
You give us the gift of free will that allows us to choose to trust you again today!
To choose to say yes to your YES,
and to choose to say yes to the mission at hand you’ve put before each of us today.
In the name of Jesus:
for the times that we did not say yes,
and the times that we did not trust, we ask you to forgive us.
Help us, God, to lean on your wisdom.
Guide our steps onto the firm foundation of your word
so that your word keeps us anchored.
We acknowledge that you are the Lord, our Rock and our fortress,
and the One in whom we will trust.
And so, God, we desire to trust you even when it's hard.
We're asking you to prevent us from relying on ourselves and our own reasoning.
Today, work in our hearts.
Put truth in our hearts so that our yes is a total YES to trusting in you.
We thank you now because in this new year of “yes,” we surrender
our hearts 100% to listen only to you--
in the confusing world around us of so many other voices:
AI, ChatGPT, Gemini, Siri, even parents and people and mentors and friends
offering advice and information for guidance and decision-making about life.
In the name of Jesus, thank you for your word that alone stabilizes us,
because today’s scripture directs us away from what is only an illusion,
and redirects us to trusting in you totally.
God, in you we put our trust.
We look towards the hills, from whence cometh our help!
Our help comes from you.
Lead us by your Holy Spirit into all truth.
Straighten every crooked path, silence the voices of the Enemy in our mind,
and keep us aligned with your will,
so that your will be done.
Empower us to walk by your Spirit,
that we will not gratify the desires of our flesh, but only you.
We will trust in you.
We believe you in the name of Jesus,
Amen.
