YES to Answered Prayer
Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone
who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the
one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Our faithful Lord and compassionate Provider,
we thank you that Jesus, our great intercessor,
invites us to ask, seek and knock,
promising that those who ask, receive;
those who seek, find;
and those who knock, the door will be opened.
Thank you that you are not a distant God,
but a listening Heavenly Father
who delights in answering our prayers.
We are so grateful and thankful!
Help us to never stop knocking
on your door of divine promises
so that we can overcome
and be among the many, as John could not number,
who “overcame by the blood of the Lamb.”
And we accept your endless invitation to keep asking
until you answer; to pursue you,
until we catch hold of the hem of your garment;
and to knock until you open the door
to new life, every day.
Today we say yes to answered prayers
not because of our worthiness,
but because of your faithfulness.
You never let us down,
even when we let you down.
Increase our confidence in asking,
our persistence in seeking boldness in praying.
Remove any unbelief or doubt
that hinders us from trusting your promises.
Forgive us when we have stopped knocking, when we
have stopped seeking because our spirits were down.
Pick us up in the name of Jesus Christ, and forgive us.
Teach us to pray according to your will,
to accept your intervention
and to recognize your answers
in both familiar and unexpected ways.
We acknowledge
that you work through mysterious ways.
Holy Spirit, intercede for us
when we do not know how to pray.
We say yes to answered prayer,
yes to divine intervention,
yes to supernatural provision,
and yes to your perfect timing.
In the name of Jesus we pray,
Amen.
