YES to Protection

Psalm 91:1-2
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

Most High God, our dwelling place, and our refuge,
we honor you today because
you alone are our safe place and our eternal shelter.
Thank you that Psalm 91 promises that
those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High
will abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
We confess that sometimes we wander
into unsafe places mentally, emotionally,
spiritually, even physically,
and we need to recover now more than ever.

We plead the blood of Jesus right now over our lives.
Today we say yes to your divine protection
because you have already said yes
to guarding your people.
You declare that you are our refuge and our fortress,
our God, in whom we certainly trust.
And God, we thank you
because we can put our trust in you.

Today we trust you to shield our minds from anxiety,
our hearts from fear, our families from danger,
our bodies from sickness,
our paths from the traps of the enemies.
Let your wings cover us. Let your truth be our shield.
Protect our studies, our ministries, homes,
our leaders, our children
and every believer in this season.

Protect us while we drive, when we walk,
when we work, when we serve, and when we rest.
Let no plague come near our dwelling.
And let your angels surround us with divine covering.
We thank you for your power and your presence.

Lord, we say yes to your protective presence,
yes to your dwelling, yes to your abiding,
yes to trusting under your wings.

We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name,
Amen.
