YES to Spirit Intercession

Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
We do not know what we ought to pray for,
but the Spirit himself intercedes for us
through wordless groans.

God, we bless you today
for the precious ministry of the Holy Spirit
who intercedes for us in all of our weaknesses.
Thank you for not leaving us to pray alone
or to depend solely on our limited understanding.
Your word says in Romans 8:26
that when we don't know what to pray,
the Spirit himself makes intercession for us
with groanings too deep for words.

So, for this divine assistance we give you glory,
and we thank you and we bless you
because Jesus, our Savior, is interceding
at your right hand even now.
Thank you that you've made it
so we cannot miss you in prayer with this type of help.
Today we say yes to the spirit of intercession.

Forgive us, God,
when we have tried to carry burdens by ourselves
as if our strength, our intellect,
or our prayers alone could sustain us.
Have mercy upon us, Holy Spirit,
and we ask you to intercede for us even now.
Pray through us. When we are tired, speak for us.
When we are confused, plead for us.
Make our case when we're overwhelmed.

Stand in the gap for our families, our churches,
our professors, our classmates, our colleagues,
our ministry for the Church of Jesus Christ,
and for our future.
Spirit of the living God, translate the cries of our hearts
into the perfect will of our Heavenly Father.
We pray now, we pray through our sighs,
we pray when we shed tears, we pray in our silences,
in our hopes and our deep longings for breakthroughs.
We thank you that they're all counted towards prayers.

And God, may you align our prayers with heaven.
We say yes to your help, yes to your Spirit’s groanings,
yes to your Spirit’s intercession on our behalf.

In the name of Jesus we pray,
Amen.
