YES to Power for Witness
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power
when the Holy Spirit comes on you;
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the ends of the earth.”
Father, thank you for the promise of power
that Jesus declared to his disciples in the book of Acts.
We bless you and we worship you
because you have fulfilled your promise.
We thank you for the day of Pentecost.
We thank you that Your Holy Spirit
made entrance into the lives of those believers,
and to every believer who believes in the name of Jesus.
God, we bless you for their infilling.
We thank you for standing Peter
in the power of your Holy Spirit for preaching,
and for souls being saved on that day.
We thank you for your YES
through their power to witness then,
and your YES for us to continue to witness today.
We bless you for the Spirit's power and ability
that resides in every believer.
Our prayer today
is that we navigate this month and this year
with the Spirit's awareness.
As we go about our daily routines,
keep us present to see that these places around us
are all mission fields and opportunities
to boldly share and testify for Jesus Christ our Lord.
If we're spiritually sleepwalking or distracted in any way,
I pray that you would awaken us now
through the power of your Spirit.
God, we bless you
because you've already given us
your miraculous power.
And so we ask now that when we share, when we pray,
when we witness what we preach,
when we live, when we love,
that great multitudes of souls
will see Jesus and be saved.
We pray that revival and renewal will flood the land,
and your Church will be filled once again.
God, may your Spirit
convict and convince every generation
to encounter Jesus Christ.
May you increase the outpouring of your Spirit
in this season.
Holy Spirit, come upon us with power today.
Equip us to be bold witnesses wherever we go.
